English Teaching and Technology

[Please see the updated version of the English TTSP site.]

ChalkboardThis site, created and maintained by Amanda French, the former Teaching with Technology Support Partner (TTSP) for English, was a resource for teachers of English composition, creative writing, and literature who want to use technology in their teaching at the University of Virginia.

The TTSP program is part of the Teaching + Technology Initiative. The "partners" are graduate fellows who provide three years of technological support to teachers in participating departments. Any teacher in the English department, including both faculty members and graduate student instructors, can contact the current TTSP for a consultation or tutorial.

The major sections of this site provide general advice and links to further resources. Instructors can also submit suggestions and questions to the current TTSP using the online Technology Survey, and can revisit the weekly Tech Tips sent to the English Department newsletter Reading Matters. Also available are printable help sheets written by the TTSP; these address topics such as how to find, manage, and organize the documents on your computer and how to scan images.

For immediate computing help, contact the ITC Help Desk at 924-3731
between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday.
