Bryan Hall has one hands-on computer classroom with computers for sixteen students plus an instructor (Bryan 203) and three classrooms with
instructor stations only (Bryan 330, 332, and 334). ITC maintains special support staff just for the purpose of helping instructors with computer and audiovisual equipment in the classrooms: just call FIXIT (3-4948) at any
time, day or night, to ask for help. See also the ITC Classroom Support Staff page at http://www.itc.virginia.edu/labs/classrooms/ec_staff.html.
For a complete list of ITC-supported electronic classrooms on grounds, visit http://www.itc.virginia.edu/labs/classrooms. You can also see panoramic (360-degree)
pictures of these classrooms on this page. To reserve a classroom, visit http://www.virginia.edu/registrar/hbreserveclass.html or write Debbie Hoffman at dah3k@virginia.edu.
All classrooms in Bryan Hall are wireless-ready, which means that if you have a working wireless network card for your laptop, you can go online in the classroom without needing an Ethernet cable to plug into the wall. If you do not have a wireless PCMCIA card, you will need to locate an active Ethernet jack in your classroom. See the diagram below for help:
The Robertson Media Center in Clemons Library also provides several excellent technology-equipped rooms; these rooms are not ITC-supported classrooms and therefore
must be reserved separately. To reserve a classroom in the Robertson Media Center, visit http://www.lib.virginia.edu/clemons/RMC/srv-rooms-booking.html or call 924-7409.
If you would like to use audiovisual or digital equipment in a regular classroom, you can
obtain some types of equipment from the English Department general administrator, who can lend you the department's laptop (with Ethernet cable) and projector on a cart, as well as a
boom box, a VCR, and an overhead projector.
For other equipment, you can contact the Arts and Sciences Center for Instructional Technology. Their Equipment Loan room is Cabell 219, and you can reserve equipment in
person, by calling 924-3470, by e-mailing a-smedia@virginia.edu, or online at http://www.virginia.edu/%7Easmedia/loan.html.
