Vacation Email Messages

Will you be out of town for a conference at some point in the future? Or will you be joining your students in Cancun for Spring Break? You can easily alert anyone who sends you an e-mail to the fact that you are away and won't return until a particular date.

1. Go to:
config.mail.virginia.edu

2. Log in using your e-mail ID and password

3. Click on "Enable vacation mail"

4. Fill in a phrase for the subject field of the e-mails
which will be sent out on your behalf (such as "I'm out of
the office", "I am away", or "I'm on vacation")

5. Fill in the second box with the message you'd like to be
sent on your behalf (Such as "To Whom It May Concern: I
will be of the office through 2/14. If this is an
emergency, please contact the AMELC office at 555-5555. I
will respond to your e-mail as soon as possible after my
return.)

6. Click on the "Submit information" button

(Contact your TTSP if you use blue.unix and would like to use a
similar function! We can meet and I can show you just how
it's done!)
