The acanthus leaves create a wonderful surface design, coupled with the vine and globe impost. The scalloped upper molding is common on
Moissac capitals. The acanthus ends in scroll intended to give the capital a classical Roman taste.
Decorated surface is the core of the Romanesque (and Archaic) style.
