Pre-proposal check-list

 

_____ Name of technical advisor, or persons you are considering for that role

 

_____ Significance--who cares about this area of research?

 

_____ Impact--who will benefit? will any group be harmed or inconvenienced?

 

_____ Problem statement--what research or design problem has emerged from your study of the literature and conversations with experts?

 

_____Objectives--list your goals--be as specific as possible.

 

_____ Methods--how are you going to achieve these goals? what procedures will you use?

 

_____ Expected end results-- how will you know if you have accomplished your objectives? What products, or publications, or new information will emerge from your project?

 

_____ Qualifications--how do you know you will be able to accomplish these goals? Will you need any special consultants? Are you working as part of a group?

 

_____ Equipment & resources--will you need any special equipment, supplies or resources? If so, how will you get access to them?

 

_____ References--you can use any format you want, as long as it is internally consistent and provides enough information for anyone to locate your sources.
