On many levels, Cash "recycles" and "recombines" old material -- e.g., the song itself as well as the
various footage used in the video -- to create a new effect. What, then, constitutes collage within the rather fluid
parameters of music videos? Is collage a purely aesthetic discipline (i.e., a visually defined style, as in the first set of videos),
or can we view "collage" in music videos as something that is theoretical as well as aesthetic?
