Dear Employment Law Students,
Please keep your eyes open during the exam period for anything suspicious
that might help identify the culprit in our recent rash of thefts.
Thanks,
Rip

Subject: Law School thefts
University Police have asked that we request all students and employees of
the Law School to assist in solving the rash of thefts that we have
experienced. In addition to the now-famous theft of the "Hounds" painting,
we have lost items ranging from furnishings to other artwork to equipment.
According to the Police, people frequently underestimate the importance of
their own observations and thus do not report what could be helpful
information. We urge you to pay attention and report anything you think may
be suspicious, be it individuals in or around the buildings, vehicles, items
in places that seem unusual, etc. The Police welcome calls or e-mails
(9-911 or police@virginia.edu), and they offer ways to contact them
anonymously as well (see the University Police homepage). You may also
contact the Dean's Office if you prefer to communicate that way.
The thefts are a violation of the community of trust that the Law School and
the University seek to provide. We appreciate any efforts to help solve the
problem. Thank you.
