"Rome Never Changes," This cartoon also appeared in The Fellowship Forum in 1928. The illustration expresses Protestants' serious concern regarding the relationship between the church and state if a Catholic were to lead the country. They suspected that a "backward" Catholic would not honor the separation that Jefferson tried to secure between matters of the spirit and those of the secular.
