Russian immigrant girl, Young immigrants, such
as this Jewish child from Russia, would find both opportunities and hardships
in America. They would work throughout their childhood in factories or with
industrial homework, leaving little time for education or opportunities
to make the upward climb on the social ladder. The subject of this 1905
