Wylie Prize 1999

The 1999 Laurence Wylie Prize in French Cultural Studies will be awarded at the AFCS colloquium in April 1999. The award committee includes Roland Simon (University of Virginia, president of the committee), Willa Silverman (Pennsylvania State University) and Scott Bryson (CUNY). Nominations are made by members of the AFCS, members of the teaching profession and graduate students in any field related to French culture and civilization, as well as by publishing houses. Books may be written in French or English, published in any country, but the authors must work and reside in North America (or an English speaking country outside of North America.) The subject of the book must relate to French cultural studies. Only books published in 1996, 1997 or 1998 will be considered.

A copy of each entry is to be sent to each member of the selection committee. Nominations other than those made by publishing houses should include precise information, so that publishers of the works nominated can be contacted for evaluation copies. All copies will be returned to their publishers upon request.

Deadline for nominations: December 15, 1998.
