The Songye Dancer
		The Songye masquerade takes place to maintain political and social harmony in the society. The female mask shown is always danced by men, but represents wisdom, beauty and peace that are associated with the feminine. It is danced with slow graceful movements to represent the feminine grace and offset the male masks which are danced more aggressively denoting the strength and courage associated with the masculine.
