Please, Janice! -- by Bogdan Achimescu

I need to eat. I want to be loved. I would love to be slimmer. I want someone I love to have a decent death, when time comes. I would love a new computer, I really don't need a car but a pair of shorts would be great. I want my enemies to become sick, even if just for today. Sounds like the beginning of one of the "Golden Fish" joke series, except there you only get three wishes.

How can art get me what I want? What good is art if it cannot bring dead friends back? Can prayer get me what I want; is it not silly to pray for a "color TV"? Is praying for a good life less silly?
