Assignment for Tuesday September 23: shoot and
edit digital video of one of your ideas.
Bring to class. Acceptable formats: miniDV tape, CD or DVD with full quality
(DV-compressed) image and sound, NTSC, mono.
The audio has to be very good quality, do not even try to record it with the
camera's onboard microphone. Image in focus, no shake, use tripod.
Suggested setup: Canon GL1 from the media lab, XLR adapter, microphone. Don't
panic, this stuff is actually easier to use than a "regular" consumer
camera.
I will expect about 2 minutes of edited footage, ready to use in the news bulletin.
This can be on the basis of the script you have already submitted or something
new.
