STUDENT PROJECTS
The following eight projects challenge the whole notion of waste, many calling on future practices that would make landfills obsolete. The students' proposals question methods of landfilling, exploring a range of systems for treating leachate and gases to new techniques of landfill mining. The DUMPsters hope that this design investigation provides clues for alternatives for the entire city and county concerned with the Ivy Landfill. We also wish to present these ideas as testing possibilities for the broader landscape of waste.
