It's Election Time!
Dear VELLA Members,
It's ELEECTION TIME!
VELLA is looking for energetic and dedicated students to
lead VELLA for the 2000-2001 school year. If you are
interested in running for an office (and we do highly
recommend it) please follow the instructions below.
Positions are open to anyone subcribing to this e-mail list
and we will once again be conducting the election by e-mail.
Election Dates: Thur. and Fri., April 13 & 14
Winners Announced: Sat., April 15
Campaign Period: Now until midnight, Wed. April 12
Positions available: President, Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer
Send e-mails to: vella-members@virginia.edu
Procedure:
Interested Candidates simply send a maximum of two (2)
e-mails to the VELLA subscriber list
(vella-members@virginia.edu) stating the reasons you should
be elected. Campaigning will last one week, beginning
today, April 6th and ending Wednesday, April 12 at midnight.
We will send out an electronic ballot to VELLA members and
they will vote by responding to the e-mail on April 13th &
14th. Winners will be announced Saturday, April 15th.
All subscribers to this e-mail (including third years) are
eligible to vote.
We strongly encourage you to consider running for a VELLA
office. It is a rewarding experience and offers great
opportunities to explore labor and employment law as well
as to make contacts and interact with people in the field,
including our great faculty!
Additionally, the PELLS program sponsored by Rip Verkerke
offers enormous support to VELLA both substantively and
financially.
Please consider running for an office. If you would like
to speak to any current officer about the responsibilities
involved you may reach us as indicated below!
