Dear VELLA members:

I would very much enjoy working more closely with VELLA 
next year. Of all my extra-curricular activities here at 
UVA Law, there is no doubt that I have enjoyed VELLA the 
most. I would like to be a part of continuing on the path 
that Dana, Jody, Ken and Karen have begun – encouraging 
interest in employment & labor law, bringing E&L 
practitioners to UVA to speak with students, and 
interacting with the E&L faculty.

You might wonder about my qualifications . . . I was one of 
Rip's many research assistants last summer and have 
continued to work with him this year. I have a strong 
interest in employment law and plan to get some practical 
experience at my firm this summer. Prior to law school, I 
was an employee and manager for 7 years. I have dealt 
first-hand with many of the trying issues that come up 
between employees and employers.

I am willing to serve VELLA in any way you need – I have no 
special desire to hold a particular office. President, Vice 
President, Treasurer, Secretary – you decide. I've 
organized many groups/activities in my life – from my 
undergraduate Residential College governing board to the 
company softball team. I've also managed budgets for 
programs exceeding $8 million.

The bottom line is that I would like to be more involved 
with VELLA next year, and I believe that I have the 
interest & dedication to help VELLA continue to grow.
