Dear VELLA members,

Welcome to the Virginia Employment and Labor Law Association's mailing
list.  Special thanks to all those who attended VELLA's introductory
meeting last week.

A few announcements:

The executive board is presently planning future events:  contacting
potential speakers and putting together possible panel discussions.
These
speakers include employment and labor law practitioners, former clients
involved in employment disputes, and, hopefully, a panel discussion on
the
Living Wage Campaign being conducted by employee-activists at the
University.

Members of various VELLA committees will be contacted soon for planning
meetings.  If you are not a member of any committee and would like to
join
one, please email me at gjc2g@virginia.edu, and indicate which
committee(s) you would like to join.  These include fundraising, events,
speakers, and publicity committees.  And remember, these committees
involve only a very minimal time commitment.

Please feel free to use this email list to communicate with the group
generally on employment and labor law-related issues and to offer your
comments/suggestions for future events.
